The hinged lid is prominently marked “SLIPPERS” and opens to reveal a fitted interior lined with faded green fabric.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cbr\u003eTraditionally used as a fireside slipper box for storing slippers and keeping them close to the fire, this is a decorative and highly unusual antique household item. It stands on four small feet and retains its original hinges and side chain supports.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe box has a pleasing aged patina and substantial signs of age and use, including tarnishing, scratches, dents, surface marks, discolouration and wear to the interior lining.
